Interpretation from the Designer Jan Puylaert

my desk was cut out of the trunk of the dead Elm tree that once stood in front of the farm. Unfortunately there was two superficial holes in it, as the tree apparently had not been totally full and continuous. I had squared all angles so that the outline of a large rectangular desk stood there, but the two holes remained. One of them actually was more like a profound deepening, and now that the desk was in full use, it turned out to be perfect as a tiny mini-lake inside my desk ...
