Deco style of the carpet reminded me of our 1920 home, which had
probably been knocked down by now. The symbols on the carpet were
the same symbols I had seen over the fireplace, at the entrance
and seemingly everwhere. They were extremely familiar to me. I had
seen them in my youth playing on this carpet. This was, in fact,
the very carpet coming from my home-house.
The basic
background was a pattern of a young tree-symbol repeated in a grid,
surrounded by pigeons. Like they were giving life and protection
to the little trees. But along the carpet-border, there was the
stabbed barbed wire again, almost creepily enclosing the peaceful
trees …
